I’ve actually been reading about the history of German games, and the origin really seems to stem from not wanting to have direct conflict in games. Thankfully there are a wide variety of popular games on both sides of the Atlantic now.

I must admit i own 2 games of Feld. 3 times played, bored, never again. All those german ( i am german ) games seems the same. The game is named after a city or country. A lot of meeple take here, to do this and get that. At the end somebody wins with the most points. And even the last wins points, even when he is playing dumb and without fun.

Maybe we germans don’t want games where somebody “really” lose in a game ?

My favourite game at the moment is “The night cage”. You win or lose, nothing in between. No, i lose but i made my share of points…

German regards
Ralf
