I haven’t yet played Tikal, though I’ve come close a couple of times. Is 1999 sneakily the best board game year ever? Right now my favorite year is 2012 but I may need to investigate further…

Holds up extremely well, both in original, somewhat luck-driven form and in advanced tile-auctioning form. And is gorgeous.
