I don’t deny that the length is probably justified for balance reasons. It’s just one of those games that ends as soon as (or before if you haven’t played well) you feel like you’re getting to a good place.

On the contrary, I think if it were any longer it would become imbalanced towards those that efforted to get early extra beds. Since extra beds are not available universally (like extra rooms are in Agricola), then I think this game would become very flawed. As it is, I have seen, and have personally, won this game without picking up an extra bed at all. I think that this is a necessary path to have available, and extra rounds would completely do away with that strategy.
